Some questions I get asked....

What precautions have I taken for COVID-19?

Having come from the Ambulance Service Medical background this is much the same for me, being hygienic, sanitising equipment, hot washing couch covers, frequently washing my hands, and now the new addition is wearing a face mask. I also check my temperature on a daily basis, I do this for my own fertility recording.

I am providing disposal masks if my clients chose to wear then. For hygiene reasons I ask my clients to provide their own clean towels. I use disposal face-masks on the couch. I wash my hands-on arrival to my clients. I am very cautions without making it weird.

Through my insurance provider I have taken a COVID-19 Health & Safety Course so I am cautious and mindful without making it weird for us both. We both need to be comfortable for you to have an amazing experience with me.

What is integrated Massage Therapy?
I refer to my massage experiences as integrated massage therapy because it much more than a hands-on massage treatment. I am combining other elements to give you a holistic experience. I use techniques such as mindset, stretches, breath work, meditation and energy exercises.

This may all sound like hard work but it’s all simple stuff, not much effort required, I am guiding you. The elements I bring will help in the effectiveness of the hands-on massage therapy. I am a mindful and meditative therapist and my aim is to embody the power of mind with the therapeutic power of the massage. Together we are transforming your state of mind and your state of body for the better.

If this all sounds too much for you then let me know, I am in the business of creating bespoke experiences for everyone and If you simply want a hands-on massage on my comfortable couch then that’s ok with me. You choose!

How do you make clients happier & calmer?
There are a few ways we ensure this happens:

1) the power of touch, which is one of the first sense from birth, through touch the hormone oxytocin is released and oxytocin inspires positive thinking, Its the feel good hormone, it helps humans connect. Through touch dopamine & serotonin is increased which are the neurotransmitters that help regulate your mood, relieve stress & anxiety.
2) Raising your vibration through simple mindset techniques so you experience greater personal power, love, clarity, peace and joy.
3) Use the grounding matt to neutralise the negative ions that build up in your body, w
hich can cause chronic inflammatory diseases.

What mindset techniques do you use?
The key here is to raise your vibration, often when I see my clients they have complaints, (aches and pains, they are worn out, stressed or tense, not sleeping, over whelmed),  I foresee it as my role to make you feel much better, to transform your state of mind and body. I will ask you simple questions to put you into a better or great frame of mind before you lay on my couch. Gratitude and self-acknowledgment – simple.  When you are truly grateful there is no room for low vibrational emotions, such as anxiety or guilt.

Why do you use affirmations?
The power of our thoughts, words and actions. An affirmation is all about you deciding how you want to show up in the world, how do you want to be? I will ask you to set an intention which is a mental state that represents a commitment to carrying out an action or actions in the future. From the intention we will decide on a suitable affirmation to project you into a future state.  It is the repetition of an affirmation that leads to belief, and once the belief becomes a deep conviction things begin to change.

What are your prices for hands on therapy, in person?
This depends on your requirements, the frequency of sessions and where you live.  Generally, a two-hour session with a 90 minutes hands on massage is £170. However please consider travel. I encourage all my clients to make an investment into their self-care and schedule regular sessions.  I enjoy making a long-term commitment to you and holding you accountable between sessions with gentle nudges to making positive improvements to your health & well-being. This is teamwork, I help you, you help me by helping yourself.

How far will you travel?
I love my life at home and mostly enjoy making visits within my local areas close to Haslemere, Surrey, GU27. I am however currently, (July 2020) in-between London life and Surrey life and make regular visits to my long-term clients in London. I also have a base in Suffolk, IP29, where I can see clients, so broadly I travel. Oh… and I have also travelled with my favourite couch to a client in Germany… so anything is possible.

Why don’t you do 60-minute massage treatments?
Over the years I have discovered that the positive effects of having a 60-minute massage compared to a 90 minute massage are exponential. It’s like having a week’s holiday compared to 10 days - you are only just beginning to relax and adjust to a holiday by day 7, its best to stay longer to reap the benefits.
With your sanction I also like to touch on the whole body, including the abdomen where we store a lot of emotions and also the chest, ribs and diaphragm. I encourage my clients to open up their chest, breathing into the intercostal muscles between the ribs and fully exert their diaphragm. All too often we take shallow breaths.

Do I have male clients?
Yes, I have a few long-term male clients, I generally don’t market myself towards men because of the connotations with the word massage. However, my male clients are often surprised what a firm massage treatment I can give. I am strong, I come from a childhood of horse riding and swimming and then to a full on manual profession in the Ambulance Service lift and carrying patients out of many situations (I have some stories to tell).

What type of massage styles do I use?
The honest answer is ‘a lot’. I don’t like to pigeonhole myself to one style and find that to provide a truly personalised massage for each client I adapt my sequences and techniques. I do enjoy working deeper into the muscles however it’s all a matter of personal preference. I am certainly not a wishy-washy massage therapist. I am hands on, connected and present. I am always learning new skills and techniques but simply shopping around, I enjoy experiencing massage treatments as much as you and practice what I preach. Have regular massage treatments to enhance your overall state of body and mind!

Do I do Sports Massage or Pregnancy Massage?
Nope that’s not something that has appealed to me. I do however work with Mum’s post pregnancy, encouraging Mums to take ‘me’ time. Having looked after my niece and nephew for two years when they were babies, I realise the constant battle between putting your needs first and your children needs. The juggling act, the lack of sleep and stain on the body, physically and mentally. And I am ‘just’ an Auntie! I take my hat off to all Mothers and Fathers.

Why do I offer complimentary 30-minute taster massage?
I will offer these to clients who are serious about getting my support this is so that we can both make a well-rounded decision as to whether we are able to work well together. I like to form long term relationships with my clients, helping them on a regular basis. I want to understand your struggles and make a commitment to helping you to transform your state of mind and body. Massage therapy is an energetic exchange and it’s disheartening for you to investing into a massage treatment with a therapist and the leave the couch not being completely satisfied and for me a therapist its disappointing to feel I am not able to commit 110% . We will have a call before the complimentary massage to find out what your intentions are what you require help with so we can decide if the time invested is worthy.

How often should I have a massage session?
Regular scheduled self-care can play a huge part in how healthy you’ll be, I believe we should all take time out for ourselves and what better way then with a massage experience where you are supporting your body on both a physical and mental level. I encourage my clients to book regular sessions and schedule them into the diary, this is to ensure that we are both committed to getting the best experience.

What are the benefits of a massage?
Massage is an important part of your health maintenance plan, there are many physiological and psychological benefits such as, reducing or eliminating pain, improving circulation, reducing muscle tension, improving joint mobility, improving immune system function, increasing body awareness, increasing lymphatic drainage and reducing depression and anxiety....... working with me to help change your state of mind & body, holistically.

Are there any side effects from a massage I need to be aware of?
As the body releases tension and increases the blood flow to your head you may suffer with a slight headache, this is a natural reaction, do drink lots of water to decrease these symptoms. Also feeling slight soreness in your muscles the next day is also perfectly natural; it’s similar to how you feel after a good workout.

What is the grounding mat?
Grounding rebalances your body by sending negative ions to neutralise the positively charged electrons, which can cause chronic inflammatory diseases. The simplest way to ground is to go outside and place your bare feet on the grass, but you can also ground indoors by using specially-made products designed to replicate the outdoor experience. I have a small matt that is placed under your feet and ankles.

How does the EMF Blushield protect you from the negative effects of electromagnetic radiation?
We live in a sea of invisible frequencies - Human, Botanical & Manmade. The manmade ones can play havoc with the cellular structure of our body, causes all sorts of diseases.

Blushield produces a complex multiple waveform on a scalar carrier signal that emits patterns that mimic nature, but much “louder” (higher amplitude) so they provide a field strong enough to compete with the harmful EMFs.  If these waveforms were audible to us, they would sound pleasant and enjoyable.  If the waveforms of the harmful EMFs were audible, they would sound irritating and abrasive, like an alarm clock or car alarm.  While we can’t hear these frequencies with our ears, our cells can hear them.  Blushield emits “feel good” frequencies to our cells, a lot like hearing waterfalls and birds chirping makes us feel good.

Every 30 seconds the Blushield device creates multiple pulse waves, scalar waves, that have millions of frequencies which are delivered to the body at the cellular level in a way that we experience frequencies in nature, these frequencies stimulate your body in a way where your body stops perceiving EMF as a threat.

What is your healing frequency music?
The music that is played during your treatment is designed for deep inner transformation, revitalisation, and consciousness expansion. A frequency of 528Hz plays throughout the music at varying volumes, not only is 528Hz the most popular Solfeggio frequency for healing but it is coincidentally used by genetic biochemists for DNA Repair. Through the power of resonance, different frequencies will affect us in different ways. This frequency has been known to work transformation and miracles. 528Hz is the frequency of all botanical life on earth, it is the frequency of love, and NASA shows it is also the frequency of our sun.

What is your deposit and cancellation policy?
I take a £50 deposit for all pay as you go clients, which is fully refundable up to 48 hours prior to the booking. All sessions can be cancelled or rescheduled up to 48 hours notice

What massage medium (oil) do you use?
I use an organic jojoba oil.
Jojoba oil is the liquid produced in the seed ( also known as goat nut, deer nut, pignut, wild hazel, quinine nut, coffeeberry, and gray box bush) of the Simmondsia chinensis plant, a shrub, which is native to southern Arizona, southern California, and northwestern Mexico. Jojoba is great as a massage medium as it doesn't feel greasy and doesn't stain sheets.Jojoba is thought to have antibacterial properties, it is well-absorbed and it doesn't have an odor and doesn't irritate
the skin.

What struggles do you help clients with?
I work with people who are not taking any time out for themselves, clients you struggling to take 'me' time.  People who have aches and pains from poor posture, stress and tension. People who struggle to sleep well, or feel overwhelmed and exhausted. People who are juggling a hectic lifestyle or going through some changes in their life.  If my clients have specific injuries or conditions I have an amazing network of Osteopaths, Personal Trainers and sports therapist I can refer clients to.
